We offer serious triple-threat (singing, acting, dance) training for young people who are passionate about performing and musical theatre. Our classes build confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills, but our main aim is to provide the very highest quality training, equipping young people with the tools to succeed in an extremely competitive industry.
We are committed to championing diversity and inclusivity in the performing arts, and actively encourage applications from young people and families from all backgrounds, and with any additional needs.
We believe that, with our training, and the right attitude, anyone can achieve success at The Musical Theatre Centre, so places to train are available to every young person aged 7-19, with no requirement to audition.
All students must attend Core Training in Singing, Acting, and Dance (Saturdays, 10am - 1pm), and then have the option to add private, one-to-one tuition in singing, acting, and/or dance, if desired.
We impose no restriction on students taking additional training elsewhere. Some of our students train exclusively with us, while others come to us for best-in-class musical theatre training but also take classes at other performing arts centres or dance schools across London, Essex, Suffolk, and Hertfordshire.
Discounts of up to 50% on fees are available via auditioned scholarships, and we also offer the option to pay fees monthly, rather than termly.
Every person is unique, with their own specific needs and abilities. That's why we never have more than 25 students in any class: this way, no-one can be lost in a crowd. This helps us to truly know each individual and to genuinely support their progress and aspirations.
We provide weekly Personal Skills classes to support the mental and emotional health of our young people. These sessions focus on mindfulness, life skills, and developing self-esteem and confidence.
Every young person who trains with us is assigned a mentor who meets with them at least once every term to check in, catch up, discuss any worries or concerns, and to support their development, mental health, and help them to work towards their long-term goals.
